Machine Gun Kelly just released his new album titled “Tickets To My Downfall” and let me tell you, it’s *chefs kiss* good. This would have been the perfect soundtrack for my angsty teen years, but instead I’m listening to it on repeat at 27.
Before this album release we were spoiled with a handful of songs like bloody valentine, my ex’s best friend and concert for aliens. Once BV was released, anyone who had listened to MGK before knew that this album was going to be different.
Not only do we get the vocals of MGK but we are graced with with Halsey, blackbear, Trippie Redd, and iann dior. Also, shout out to blackbear for releasing an album of bangers in August. Check it out on spotify here if you haven’t already.
I’m not here to tell you which songs to listen to, but my top songs are; forget me too, my ex’s best friend, bloody valentine and kiss kiss. With lyrics like “It’s an emotional kaleidoscope when I face you” and “I don’t do fake love but I’ll take some from you tonight” are just a few lyrics that stick out while listening to this album.
Let’s be real, there are some other lyrics in this album that 20 something year olds relate to, but we don’t have time to unpack all of those. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Monday night (9.28.20) MGK tweeted out that he was dropping the deluxe version of the album. So even more songs added to the already banger of a 35 minute album. I personally cannot wait.
Once Covid is over and Kels tours this album, you know I’m going to do what I can to be at a date or two on that tour. Let me know your thoughts on Tickets To My Downfall!
P.S. If you haven’t seen the music video for bloody valentine, it has Kelly’s girl friend, Megan Fox in it…so get on it. 🥵
