Wendy’s said forget Arby’s, we have the best roast (beef). This morning Wendy’s tweeted out that it was #NationalRoastDay and we were not let down. There seemed to be a little bit of roast to go around, think of it like a Comedy Central Roast but via twitter and roasting not only famous people and brands, but the common folk.
My personal favorite and the one I keep seeing being shared the most is the roast of the Tampa Bay Rays. If you don’t know, the manager of the Rays took out pitcher Blake Snell in the 6th inning of Game 6 of the 2020 World Series. Snell and the Rays had a 1-0 lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers when he was pulled, Los Angeles ended up coming back to win the game 3-1 and eventually win the World Series that night. So this move seemed to be the Rays most crucial mistake of the 2020 and this tweet asking to be roasted might be their biggest mistake of 2021 so far. So with that backstory, now this roast makes more sense to some…
Although the Rays roast was my favorite of the day, I’ve attached some of the most noteworthy roast to read. In all honesty now I just want to devour some spicy nuggs and a chocolate frosty while scrolling through their replies.
I’ve never even had Velveeta cheese and this roast isn’t making me want to change that any time soon.
For once, Gordon was the one being roasted and I’m here for it. Who’s the idiot sandwich now, Gordon?
It looks like Dr. Phil was a bit late to roast day but Wendy’s still managed to smoothly slide a little bit of late night roast in just like how I sneak a midnight snack.
Next they hit KFC Spain with a little Spanish roast. Gotta keep it spicy.
They also hit Pabst Blue Ribbon with some shade. Which they rightfully deserved.
Pringles popped in for some fun, and I have a lot of questions about this flavor and why they called themselves chrisp and not chips???
These last two made my little emo heart laugh. Who doesn’t love some Dashboard Confessional and Relient K?
The Wendy’s social person got paid to talk shit to people on twitter, which is what so many keyboard warriors do all day for free. If you get a chance, go through the Wendy’s replies from Roast Day and you won’t be disappointed.
